About This Game

Battle against 2 of your friends in this quick asymmetrical combat dice game.

Materials Needed

An 8x8 chess or checkers board.

How to Play

Setup:
* Each player gets 2 d6s.
* Players roll a d20 to see which character they get, the highest roll chooses first and 2nd choice goes to the 2nd highest roll.
* Setup each character on their starting positions (see board below)

Characters:

The Droid
* Mid-ranged / melee
* 3 lives
* 1-2 damage

The Sprawler
* Long Range
* 3 lives
* 1 damage

Player X
* melee
* 4 lives
* 1-2 damage

Turn:
* Each turn players either roll for attack or roll for movement
* (Player X gets to optionally roll to attack AND roll to move in any order on the same turn.)
* If a player rolls under a 3 on either their attack or their movement roll, their turn ends without any effects.
* If a player rolls a 6 on either their attack or their movement rolls, they can take the other action during this turn (Attack if they moved, movement if they attacked). They can only take each action once per turn.
* If a player rolls two 6's in a row, they get an extra life.

Character-specific Rules:

Droid:
* Can only attack when on-top of or next-to the opponent.
* Attack Roll: If a 6 is rolled, deal 2 damage, otherwise deal 1.
* Cannot attack the Sprawler

Sprawler:
* The attack die determines sprawler range instead of damage.
* Attack roll: If a 6 is rolled, their attack range is 4 tiles.
* Attack roll: If a 5 is rolled, their attack range is 3 tiles.
* Attack roll: If a 4 is rolled, their attack range is 2 tiles.
* Attack roll: If a 3 or lower is rolled, their attack range is 1 tile.
* Attack rolls that hit always do 1 damage.
* Cannot attack the Droid

Player X:
* Gets to roll both the attack die and the movement die in a single turn.
* Has to choose attack or movement, then roll a die. Gets to roll 1 at a time.
* If 2 6s are rolled, player X can either gain an extra life OR use the two 6s for attacking and moving.
* Attack roll: If a 5 or 6 is rolled, their attack does 2 damage.
* Attack roll: If a 4 or lower is rolled, their attack does 1 damage.
* Player X always has to be directly on top of someone to attack them.
